Emir Bağış is an Attorney-at-Law registered with the Ankara Bar Association, with professional experience spanning international trade, foreign investment, regulatory advisory, dispute resolution, and cross-border legal matters.

Following the completion of his legal internship in 2012, he served as a Foreign Trade Expert at the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye (formerly the Ministry of Economy) between 2012 and 2019, where he was involved in matters relating to international trade policy, investment frameworks, regulatory mechanisms, and international economic affairs. His work included participation in legislative and regulatory drafting processes, treaty and international agreement negotiations, as well as the coordination of procedural matters such as ratification and entry-into-force processes, together with stakeholder coordination at both domestic and international levels. He also took part in public-sector consultation and coordination processes concerning investment disputes brought against the Republic of Türkiye, as well as matters relating to disputes involving Turkish companies in international contexts.

Throughout his public-sector career, he participated in various international programmes, conferences, workshops, experience-sharing platforms, and policy-related studies involving institutions and initiatives such as UNCTAD, IISD, JVI, the World Bank Doing Business project, and the establishment efforts of the OECD National Contact Point mechanism in Türkiye.

He later continued his professional career within private practice, focusing on commercial disputes, international arbitration, contractual matters, investment-related advisory, and strategic legal consultancy. In March 2022, he founded Bağış Law Office, a boutique legal practice providing internationally oriented legal advisory and dispute resolution services.

Emir Bağış also holds an LL.M. in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution from Queen Mary University of London, awarded under the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme.

He is professionally proficient in English, has professional working proficiency in French, and possesses a basic command of Spanish.
